Matthew 2:1-12
Wise Men

The story of the Wise Men in Matthew 2:1–12 is often shaped more by tradition than by Scripture. In fourth part of the sermon series Miracles in the Margins: The Wise Men, Pastor Drew Webb carefully examines the biblical account to uncover who the Magi really were, where they came from, and why their journey matters.

This sermon highlights God’s sovereign plan unfolding through unexpected people and circumstances. While King Herod responded to Jesus with hostility and the religious leaders responded with indifference, the Wise Men responded with humble worship. Their actions reveal a powerful truth: God often reveals Himself to those least expected, and He calls all people to trust His purposes even when they are not fully understood.

Pastor Drew challenges listeners to reflect on their own response to Jesus Christ. True worship, as demonstrated by the Magi, is not merely giving gifts but offering our whole lives in response to what God has revealed about Himself. This message encourages believers to trust God’s plan, obey His leading, and live lives marked by genuine worship.
